Plight of the Refugee's

International Rescue Committee's Annual Fundraiser

Client • International Rescue Committee
type • Fundraising event, centerpiece video

For the International Rescue Committee’s annual fundraiser in New York, we produced the main video presentation for the evening, shaping the narrative to resonate with a time when immigration and refugee issues were under intense public scrutiny. The goal was to tell a story that was both urgent and inspiring—showing how refugees are integral to the United States’ progress, history, and global contributions.

Shot in a dramatic, documentary style, the video focused on the significance and stature of political and business leaders who are refugees, emphasizing the transformative role they play in society. By humanizing these stories and highlighting their achievements, we created a compelling tribute to the resilience, courage, and contributions of refugees.

A key moment in the presentation was a tribute to John Whitehead, former chairman of Goldman Sachs and a lifelong supporter of IRC, who also landed at Omaha Beach on D-Day. This segment underscored the historical and personal impact of refugees while tying their experiences to broader themes of leadership, service, and national contribution.

Through careful re-editing, cinematic storytelling, and thoughtful pacing, the video not only honored the achievements of individual refugees but also reinforced the IRC’s mission, inspiring donors to support the ongoing work of aiding displaced populations worldwide.
